COMPADRE – MIRADAS EP

It all started in the 90s in Santiago de Chile.
Puma Squat, 16, is the DJ of the popular hip hop band Mazika and cut his teeth at the Casa Club while his group signed with the major Sony. The Casa Club is a legendary club where djs like Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano pose their first vinyls.
Also a resident, Rodrigo Castro is starting his electro-house project Marciano.
A musical family has just been born but life ends up separating them…
Fifteen years later, the two friends find themselves like two brothers who would never have left each other. They start tweaking their machines together and the alchemy is there: Compadre can come to life. Describing their music as free, solid and filled with relief, their electronic Chilienades will find a name and a new genre: The Electrocordillera.

After a very beautiful EP called « Electrocordillera », the group continues its exploration of the style with a new disc bearing the name of Miradas.
With this EP which mixes loops of hypnotic synthesizers, analog percussions and songs in Spanish, the Compadre revisit elements of culture borrowed from their South American ancestors and offer us a personal vision of the current world.
